Our Mission

We are more than a horse racing designer brand; it's a commitment to sustainability and giving back. We allocate a portion of our profits to two charities that reflect our values of community support and environmental care Additionally, we're dedicated to nurturing the racing community by funding start-up jockeys, ensuring the sport's future vitality. Through sustainable practices and philanthropic efforts, we embody the belief that success is about more than just what you achieve—it's about what you give back.

Donation Partnerships

Donation Partnership #1

Retraining of Racehorses

Houldsworth of Cheltenham cares about the lives of racehorses when their racing days are over, due to retirement, ill health, or injury. We donate a percentage of our profits to a charity which promotes the versatility and adaptability of racehorses for other equestrian activities following their retirement from racing. This is our
commitment in supporting the racehorses which gives us so much enjoyment
throughout its life. This charity (ROR) Retraining of Racehorses, is close to
our hearts, by also protecting horse welfare through a nationwide ‘safety net’
that is available to assist any former racehorse considered ‘vulnerable’. In
such cases, the charity provides funding for the provision of expert care prior
to suitable rehoming.

Donation Partnership #2

Team Trees

Our second donation
partnership is the Team Trees charity, which is a green initiative which plants trees, a percentage of our profits are donated to this charity. Our mission is
to stay 100% organically focussed within our clothing brand. One of our core
values is to go the 'extra mile,' giving back to the earth what is has freely
given to us, to help facilitate environmental change and awareness.

Donating to this charity
helps to promote a healthier environment for us and the generations to come by
cleaning the earth from harmful carbon deposits by offsetting them. This keeps
our brand sustainability focused in renewable practises, whilst challenging our
competitors in this ever important arena. This is our commitment in
supporting the environment which freely gives us our raw materials for the organic and sustainable clothes we produce.

Sustainable and Renewable Practises

Sustainable Practice

Our Organic Cotton

At Houldsworth of Cheltenham we only use 100% organic piqué cotton in all our polo shirts. This material is ideal for polo shirts as piqué cotton is also an easy-care, breathable and absorbent fabric with a comfortable feel. Our fabric is recyclable and won’t leak microplastics during washing.

Renewable Practice

Recyclable Packaging

Packaging is one of the worst offenders to the environment with just 17% of packaging being recycled. Our pledge to help towards eradicating this problem is to only use packaging which has previously been recycled, and is recyclable after you have received your garments. Our 100% recycled mailer is a perfect alternative to single-use plastic mailers.

Renewable Practise

Recyclable Hangtags

Recyclable cardboard is beneficial for sustainability because it promotes a circular economy, where materials can be reused and repurposed. By recycling cardboard, we reduce the demand for virgin materials and the environmental impact associated with their extraction and processing. Additionally, recycling cardboard conserves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to manufacturing new cardboard from raw materials, contributing to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging solution.

Sustainable Practise

Black Acid Free Tissue Paper

Acid-free tissue paper is considered sustainable for several reasons. Firstly, it is
manufactured using processes that minimize environmental impact, often
employing eco-friendly materials and sustainable forestry practices. The
production of acid-free tissue paper often involves efforts to reduce energy
consumption and emissions, aligning with broader sustainability goals in the
paper and packaging industry.
